From a young age I have enjoyed walking and observing the English countryside: the landscape, the animals (especially birds), plants and the elements.

I have been creative since a child, spending hours playing with different techniques and being encouraged by inspirational teachers who took an interest. I inevitably followed my passion with a teaching degree and taught as an art & design specialist for many years.

My paintings are largely acrylic based and I use acrylic spray paints to sketch out my work to get some initial colour down on my panel or canvas.

Taking my starting point from nature, I decide on a colour scheme and brainstorm some ideas but once started each artwork takes me on a journey of exploration and problem solving which may lead me in a completely different direction… best laid plans and all that!
