Acrylic textured abstract landscape painting on birch cradled panel - framed with black obeche tray styled frame.
My process for the collection of fragmented landscapes starts with a chosen landscape photo in photoshop where I select and divide this into sectors of colour. My colours are chosen from either colour schemes or from artwork where I have loved the colours used in the over all visual impact. Once the range of colours have been chosen I begin dropping colour into my sections in photoshop to create a balance. This is print out and used as the basic starting point for my artwork ... changes are usually made as the painting develops and even some new colours are swapped in. Features on the landscape for example trees are suggested using symbols. These are then pulled down through the painting (even if they weren't there in the original photo) this helps the eye travel down through the artwork top to bottom and left to right This same process is also repeated with all the colours used.
